Can you successfully hide motherboard fingerprint using virtualization? I don't think that it is so easy. Also I believe that you can detect that program is running in virtual enviroment
Lessons learned from from past AC systems seems to suggest that such systems becomes the target of attacks and there have been occurrences where hacks were used to produce false positives against players who were playing with clean builds. It's not a bad idea but is a single element that can add to the complexity of a software solution that overtime that can weaken such a system.
The solution to the problem of cheating, as a good start, is really based on many questions that needs to be answered based on the idea that cheating in general is a social problem in relationship to it's real world counter part. If someone is caught robbing a bank what do we do with them and as a individual do you really care if they robbed the bank if you know it was not your money they they tried to steal?
The start of solving the problem is the fact that we are now talking about it inside an open forum with out emotional context means we can now talk about possible features that we can add as a means to add value to ones own personal account, IE money example, where they risk losing all that they have gained by cheating just once.
So the questions are.
1) Do you really care that much if someone is cheating if you can prove that you are not?
2) What kinds of value added features would you like to see added to your account that would prevent you from even considering using a cheat?
Granted cheating in general is not a pleasant topic but from the development of the game side of things we would rather hear ideas that relates to value so we can really hurt a cheater by taking all their stuff away.
