The dreaded couldn't allocate ip.
I think I have the wrong port possibly.
I connect from my pc to the hub
which connects to the modem.
What then would my port be?
A suggestion be4 was that my router
wont allow me to connect to my external ip.
How do i fix this?
Also, I can make a local server with dedicated 2...???
If its sending heartbats shouldn't my server be posted on master.urbanterror.net ?
This could majorly help with the problem:
(modem manual) http://www.qwest.com...e/1524-rev2.pdf
Id greatly apriciate that if the answers to the above
questions dont help me with the problem; u look at the file and figure out
optons for advanced settings that would fix my needs.
Hell, if someone takes the time and tells me how to do it and it works;
im willin to send u a check.

You can make a server with dedicated 2, even local ones. The only draw back (not confirmed) is that you may not be able to use the LAN browser inside Urban Terror to find it, you'll have to know the internal IP address. In order for the server to report to master.urbanterror.net you need to be sure that one of the 5 sv_master[1-5] cvars is set to "master.urbanterror.net". Also, if you have a router/firewall which does NAT, you need to forward external UDP traffic on port 27960 to your internal IP on the same port. At that point you should have no problem finding your server on http://master.urbant...net/servers.php (this is the raw DB pull). I would search the page for server name. If you see that the port listed for your server is not 27960, you've got a problem with your router/firewall. If you can, get a LinkSys, I know they work properly. If you're not showing up, shoot me a message with your IP address and I'll see if I banned it :-)

Well my router is a Linksys which is connected to the dsl modem.
When I put my external ip in +set net_ip and i've tried + set net_port to 27960
It still says the same thing...???
Agin this modem has tons of settings the file may shed some light for you.

The IP is not banned. Post a screenshot of your port forwards inside the router/firewall.

Funny how I always think of things when im not home and can't actually try them. Ne way this is from Qwest's support page:
How can I make the FTP or Web server on my network available to Internet users?

For a Web server, enable port forwarding for port 80 to the IP address of your server. (We recommend you configure your server to use a static IP address.)
For an FTP server, enable port forwarding for port 21 to the IP address of your server. (We recommend you configure your server to use a static IP address.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now Ive looked through port forwarding reconfigured everything only to find out I still have the wrong port. With the given information are you sure 27960 is the correct port. Also Check this static IP guide (don't worry its short). http://www.qwest.com...K_111904msl.pdf
Is it true I can just do this b/c I thought I had to buy a static ip.
Also do I need to set up DMZ hosting or should I be fine w/ port forwarding?
Btw the check thing is off. Illogical man u never replied to my screen shot...

q3 uses UDP, not TCP...shields up does TCP syn scanning. if you havent told q3 to use a port other than its default it IS 27960 (referring to you other thread there).

/me wishes you all the best for the next 2 months desperately trying to run an UrT server...

I had protocol set to both. If shields up can't test port 27960 what will because quake still didn't allocate an ip. Ill be glad if I can figure it out in 2 months.
Thought it would be easy just to figure out the correct port range.
